A note from Becca
Hello. I’m Becca, an illustrator based on the coast of Cornwall. Most days I’m drawing from my desk in my garden studio, working on picture books or out on location filling my sketchbooks.
I share some of my work online, but there are so many pages of process, mistakes, ideas and experiments that never make it out to the world. Instead, they live in a cosy corner of Patreon.
Whether you’re just starting out with a new sketchbook or you’ve been drawing for years, there’s a place for you here. Come and draw with me.
Becca · Cornwall
“I’d overthink the blank page and end up not drawing at all. Now I’m not scared to just start, even if it’s messy. It feels more like experimenting and learning rather than needing everything to look ‘good’.”
Suzanne – Sketchbook Club Tier
Three tiers, all built around the same love of drawing. Find the one that fits where you are right now.
Lighthouse Library
Your foundation: a library of how-to-draw tutorials curated over five years
58 how-to-draw tutorials, curated and collected over five years. Each one walks you through a subject from first pencil mark to finished piece. Perfect for all abilities, and because it’s an archive, you can dip in and out at your own pace.
Sketchbook Club
The core membership: build a consistent sketchbook habit
If you’ve ever struggled to draw regularly, didn’t know what to draw, or felt stuck in your sketchbook, this is where that starts to shift.
Each month, we focus on one creative prompt, with reference photo packs, community drawing sessions, annual projects, and gentle structure to help you actually keep going.
You’ll get guidance and encouragement without pressure, so your sketchbook becomes something you return to, not another thing you feel behind on.
Includes everything in Lighthouse Library plus access to 300+ posts across the collections below.
Harbour Studio
7-day free trial included
Full access: deepen your skills and grow your work
For illustrators and creatives who want to go beyond drawing more — and understand how ideas develop into finished work.
Alongside everything in Sketchbook Club and Lighthouse Library, Harbour Studio gives you the deeper studio layer: regular monthly videos, sketchbook tours, drawing-on-location films, picture book process, Moodboard Mondays, Studio Letters, drop-ins, Q&As, and end-of-year roundups.
It’s for when you want more insight into the process, the decisions, and the messy middle, not just the finished piece.
“I used to feel like every sketchbook page had to be perfect, which meant I never filled one. Now I’ve filled over five sketchbooks and they’re bursting with art.”
Darian – HARBOUR STUDIO TIER

A library of how-to-draw tutorials curated over five years: 58 tutorials, all available from day one. Each one walks you through a subject from first pencil mark to finished piece, with close-up process photos and notes on materials and approach.
Perfect for all abilities. And because it’s an archive, you can dip in and out at your own pace, returning to favourites or working through in order. No pressure, no deadlines.

Each month I share a new creative prompt to spark your sketchbook practice. These aren’t strict briefs. They’re gentle invitations to explore a theme or subject in your own way. A lovely way to keep your sketchbook moving.

These are recordings of live Zoom drawing sessions where the whole community draws together. I prepare subjects and reference photos for each session, and we spend the time drawing, chatting, and sharing what we’re working on. It’s an unedited recording of a real shared experience, not a solo tutorial. The replays go straight into the archive so you can join in whenever suits you.

Monthly collections of reference photos: botanical subjects, animals, landscapes, people and everyday objects, for you to use in your own drawings. All either taken or sourced by me. Most reference photo packs live at this tier, with additional and extended packs available in Harbour Studio.

Each month I share one member’s work on my Instagram. A small way to celebrate the creativity happening inside the community, and a lovely bit of encouragement for whoever is featured.

A back-catalogue of annual projects and older sketchbook tour content: pages from inside my older sketchbooks, past process videos, completed annual projects, and older sketchbook tours. A quiet corner of the archive to browse whenever you feel like it.

Regular monthly studio videos covering every aspect of creative life, from ongoing projects to the everyday rhythm of the studio. Plus new in-depth tours through my current sketchbooks, in depth drawing on location videos, the work in progress, and pages I haven’t shared anywhere else. Bonus and extra videos sit here too, alongside anything that doesn’t quite fit a category but feels worth sharing.

A behind-the-scenes look at how picture books come together, from rough character sketches and layout decisions through to working with publishers and agents. Honest and ongoing, covering the full arc of a book from first idea to finished manuscript.

Every Monday I share the images, colours, and ideas feeding into my work that week. Part visual diary, part inspiration board. Alongside these, I send seasonal Studio Letters: longer, more personal reflections on what I’m working on, what’s changing, and where the work is taking me.

Throughout the year I host live studio drop-in sessions: informal, unscheduled times to draw together, see the studio as it really is, and ask anything. Plus regular Q&As covering the creative process, the professional side of illustration, and whatever the community wants to know.

Honest reflections on the professional side of a creative career: submissions, licensing, commissions, and how a working illustration practice actually functions. Plus annual goal-setting posts and end-of-year roundups that look back at what the year brought and what’s ahead.
“I realised inspiration comes from everyday moments — being out, noticing things, and reflecting on them later. It’s made me feel more present and much more confident starting.”
